Moscow Exchange to launch trade in stock options in 2022

MOSCOW, Oct 19 (PRIME) -- The Moscow Exchange plans to launch trade in options for Russian and foreign shares in January–June 2022, Maria Patrikeyeva, head of the bourse’s department of sales on the derivatives market, said in a conference on Tuesday.

“Speaking of technological projects, number one project on the derivatives market now is stock options, which we plan to launch in the first half of next year. It will be about options for both Russian and foreign shares,” she said.

The bourse is also working on a launch of option strategies, which is a necessary part of successful trade in stock options, she said.

The bourse is also considering option strategies of writing off the margin in foreign currencies. Now, these write-offs are done only in rubles, but the foreign currency write-offs may be launched until the end of the year, she added.
